Text Colour
When making a website make sure the text colour is not similar to that of the background. This is one of the most annoying things to me. People easily look past this, and it is actually a really easy way to make your website look alot better.
This is why black and white are great colours to use when having text and background colours changed.
Titles
When making titles, they can make or break a website. If you have a great title that hooks the viewer it can make your website infinetly better. But it you have a really lame title it will make it..... well lame.

Layout
Also, a very good way to liven up your website is by having a catchy and user friendly layout. If you lay things out so you can easily find things if will make people like your webpage that much more.

If you want to make a website of your own, I can give you some pointers. In this short few tips, I tell you how to better layout, make better titles, and choose the correct text colours. These three things are easy, but have a large impact.
Good Photography
Your website should use photos to help give it a nice clean look. When using photos, you want to make sure you use good, professional looking photos.
Here this website uses good high-quality photos for their background, among other things.
Fonts
In a website, you want to make sure that you choose a font that is clear, and not difficult to read. Otherwise people will just struggle to read your title.
You don't want to have a super thin or super thick font because often they make it very hard to read.
Buttons
Try using fancy well designed buttons, try making something that the user cant resist using to sent you an email, or order something.
This is an example of a button I love. You can make a sort of book mark appear of the link when you hover over it.
Spelling
You can spell things correctly for many years. But, the moment you make a single mistake, customers will pick you apart for just that one mistake.
Spelling may seem like it's just something small, but it plays a big part.
Speed
Personally, I hate it when things take a long time to load. It is a big deal to make sure that your website loads as fast as it possible can.
When I'm just sitting there waiting for a single page to load, it makes it feel like forever. Trust me, this makes a world of difference.
Mobile
What is a website without an easily accessible mobile version? If you are using a web design tool, you can easily make your webpage mobile.
When you make your webpage mobile friendly, in a mobile friendly world, people will love it. Simple as that.
